Ex Aequo is a French-speaking health organisation which works with men who have sex with other men (MSM).
As part of its prevention mission, Ex Aequo developed the ‘Test Out’ project to promote access to testing for MSM. Testing is at the heart of strategies to combat HIV. Knowing your HIV status is a benefit for all. It is especially important to get medical attention at the earliest stages of HIV or other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Knowing your status is an effective way to break the chain of contamination. For MSM, it is recommended that screening for HIV and all STIs is done at least once a year. If you have many sexual partners, you should be tested as often as necessary. Every three months is the ideal frequency, but every 10 lovers another way to remember to go get tested.
During our testing campaigns, stakeholders welcome you in a nonhospital setting such as the local office of our association. A single drop of blood from the fingertip is all we need to perform a HIV and/or syphilis test. The results are given to you immediately. Through a few simple questions, we can evaluate your profile and offer personalised advice so you can take care of your health and that of your partners.
By opening the door of Ex Aequo, you are improving your sexuality. You will be more comfortable with your partners, you will have taken care of yourself, and have done something for our community. Our testing is free and anonymous.
Ex Aequo offers free syphilis and HIV/AIDS tests with rapid results on Mondays (6 to 8.00 pm) and Tuesdays (12.00 am to 4.00 pm). Ex Aequo also wants to be close to its public and undertake some HIV testing in saunas or cruising bars in Brussels and Wallonia. If you are interested, call +32 2 736 28 61 to make an appointment.
