SummaryClose by the Rijksmuseum, and the Antiques Quarter around the Spiegelgracht is only a few blocks away. This café is secluded beside the slow-moving waters of the Lijnbaansgracht. Mankind possesses its own canal-side terrace, patio and landing stage, so it is possible to get there by boat. Any visitor to Amsterdam at a loss what to do, should make a point of visiting Mankind, especially on a warm summer day, to sip a drink by the quiet canal, relax and admire the quaint 200- to 300-year-old houses. Café Mankind is a welcoming stop on your visit to Amsterdam. Ideally situated close to the Rijksmuseum, it is the perfect place to take a rest and recover from your sight seeing and partying or as a meeting point for friends. The café, owned and run by Frank for nearly twenty-five years, offers a warm and friendly welcome at any time of the year.In the summer you can relax on our canal side terrace or street side patio; and when it gets colder, the café is a snug and warm haven from the chill of the canals. Aside from offering an excellent range of freshly made hot and cold light dishes, sandwiches and snacks, the dish of the day – in Dutch its called the dagschotel – is great value at € 10,50. A vegetarian option is always available. Our kitchen is open daily from 12.00 until 20.00 hours. Information
